MFW AW17 : Gucci and a Shot of Italian Espresso

by Bianca Hill

Milan Fashion Week is like a shot of good espresso. Just when you think there's a lull after New York and London, you get hit with a rush of Adrenaline as soon as you step off the tarmac in Milan. And nothing is more of a rush (good or bad) like Gucci in Milan. The ridiculous color arrangments, the pomp and style of Italian street wear and the jingoism that follows it, is encapsulated in the most important Italian clothing brand in the world. Alessandro Michele put out all the usual stops for a showstopper. The glittering coats to the Gucci headbands were all homage to a brand that has exceeded every expectation and gone beyond every norm within high fashion. Nothing in the collection seemed out of place as the place taken up by the collection was broad enough to fit every layer of color known to man.
