Oslo Fashion Week SS17 kicked off with the fanfare of a homecoming. Norway has been producing solid designers for the better part of the last decade without outright dominating the fashion scene in Scandinavia. But the new crop of designers on pre-show today suggested that the pendulum might be swinging in their direction. While it is not as big as Copenhagen, Oslo has what is necessary to construct a comprehensive master class in Scandinavian fashion. Today Anne Karine Thorbjrnsen along with Bror August brought the house down with their pre-collection. Along with Anne and Bror, Camilla Reinfell , Edda Gimnes were also on display. The movement of colors and see through fabric provided a strong sense of where the new generation of Norwegian designers are heading. The silhouettes while not tempered to look bespoke, provided a mixture of Norwegian functionality and a sense comfort of finally coming out of the shadows of its bigger neighbors.
