Vera Wang and the Contemporary Bride

by Lotus Ladegaard

Vera Wang hardly needs any further introduction. Upon graduation from Sarah Lawrence in art history, the designer became the youngest editor at Vogue, where she stayed for 17 years until she joined Ralph Lauren. After a couple of years at the fashion brand, she resigned and founded her own bridal line. Since then she has also produced several evening wear lines.

This Vera Wang bridal collection is everything we have come to appreciate about Vera's work. Exquisite feminine tailoring with an eye for details and with a modern twist. With a limited amount of looks, Vera Wang still manages to show good range with flowy and aetherial gowns as well as more tailored and architectural gowns catering to many fashionista brides. With oversized sleeves and draped details, Vera Wang has created a very contemporary bridal collection that will appeal to a wide audience that is looking for something different and special. The lace gowns are absolutely exquisite and have all the bridal feel you would want, while the more tailored and draped dresses would work well down the aisle or on the red carpet. The multi-layered gowns with sleeves are among my favorites. They have an almost fairy like quality and will work well with those seeking something a bit more romantic. The black accessories and details she has created for some of the looks stands out in this collection. Vera Wang has created a beautiful and contemporary bridal collection that will appeal to many fashionistas around the globe.
